WHAT IS FINANCIALLY FIT ?

Financially Fit is a program associated with United Way of Southwest Georgia. This program's objective is to provide financial literacy services to increase GEAR UP students and families’ knowledge of financial strategies to prepare them for post-secondary education. Financially Fit partners with GEAR UP Dougherty grantees to provide the following services:

OUR OBJECTIVES

Increase academic performance and preparation for post-secondary education.

Increase percentage of students who graduate from high school and enroll in a post-secondary institution.

Increase student and family knowledge of post-secondary education options, preparation, financing, and careers.

Increase student persistence rates for year one of post-secondary education.

WHAT IS GEAR UP DOUGHERTY?

GEAR UP Dougherty, a unit of the Dougherty County School System, proudly serves all students in the high school graduating classes of 2024 and 2025. Our goal is to ensure that cohort students are prepared to enter and succeed in education beyond high school. All services are offered to cohort students and their families at no cost. GEAR UP is a federal program funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
